Pyre are back with another lyric video, this time for their song 3 a.m.
We knew we had to get the mood just right for this one. On the upside, the slower tempo meant the background didn’t need to be as busy. But filming a road in the rain at night was harder than you might expect - this was our fourth night shooting. One night we saw a badger!
Keeping the camera steady during the strong winds on a rickety tripod was a challenge, but well worth it for the rain picking up at just the right moment during the bridge. And it was great to have an excuse to use the reflection effect on the text, adding to the puddle aesthetic.
We haven’t yet decided if the live set lighting patterns will reflect the orange of this video, or be closer to the deep blues of the album art.
